So, Here’s The Current Situation

The last thing I want to suggest is that I know what the hell I’m doing. Like I said before, I have been doing barbell training for the past year, but:

  • I was also backpacking around the world for seven months last year so my consistency and focus dropped off at times. I didn’t do any lifting in July.
  • A fear of failure kept me from doing exercises like the overhead press and deadlift. I did them at times but not always when I was meant to.
  • At the end of last year, I overtrained. I became impatient, tried to push myself too far, and soon found myself fatigued and weak.

So clearly, I’m an amateur even in things I’ve been interested in for a long time. (I first started reading about barbell training years ago.)

To illustrate that I’m an amateur — and to show how imperfect my body is at the moment – I’ve decided to share progress photos every now and then. This batch of photos is my current situation. It’s not a pretty sight.
